I tell ya, she made btwn 8 to 12 miraculous saves, the equivalent of throwing a perfect game.

Gotta love the saves.

Even if it is soccer, that was a fantastic game. Well, fantastic overtime. I kept wandering away (to do... um, what I was supposed to be doing) during the first half and the first half of the second half.

But that overtime... I was transfixed and probably yelling at the screen. Especially that last corner kick. Solo got undercut by a Brazilian player, still managed to punch it far enough that the followup went into the side of the net. The goal by the person who scored the goal (I don't watch soccer enough to know anyone but Solo, from the "controversy" after the last time she was taken out) was also very pretty. Perfect shot to the far post, just outside of the goalie's reach.

3.  Grrls/Gurls/Girls/You Go Girl is a third wave embracement of the term.  Surely you remember when feminist icon Hillary Clinton said at last August's AFL-CIO debate, "If you want a winner...I'm your girl."
